The Rawlings (who mostly lived on Rawlings Road - where I also lived) had a traditional old-style sorghum molasses press. Every year they'd invite the newspaper reporters out and go grinding it the old way, with a mule. They'd boil down the molasses, then lastly pour it into jars. Yep, that's Tommy again holding a jar of the finished product. You may recognize him from the Woodlawn pictures.
