2005-03-18: Cable Management I can Manage

So, one of the big problems I've had with my place to date, has been the cables sprawled all over the place. Not just the cables which are actually connected to things; more of an issue with the UNconnected cables. Conventional plastic ties aren't anywhere near environmentally sound for the purpose of keeping cables neatly spooled, as they invariably need to be removed and the only way to do that, is by snipping them off. The sheer waste involved irks me to no end, and I'd rather have a rat's nest than feel like I can't use a cable without putting something in the landfill. Enter the new, removable plastic ties that Home Depot has now. They have a hard to manage plastic handle, and are a pain to remove, but it CAN be done. That's all I actually need to make me happy, and I've purchased four bags of them tonight alone - 60 ties.

The main reason I made the Home Depot run, however, was that I finally got tired of having to man-handle my dresser drawers open. One of the drawers had somehow gotten its roller ripped off the back, and its absence was quite noticeable. After a little searching, I was able to find a suitable replacement, which did indeed fit. Everything's getting just a little bit better today, it seems.
