2006-04-30: Ballast secured, set sail for Iron Sights!

A while back, I bought this wedge shaped piece of lead to shove into the buttstock of my National Match-style AR. Prior to the installation of the lead wedge, my rifle was extremely front-heavy. Now it's slightly biased towards the rear, which is good, as it means I can add some lead weights inside of the front handguard to balance it out a little better. Andrew, one of the employees at Iron Sights, has a beautiful 15lb Bushmaster that I'd like my rifle to grow up to be just like.

In the same order, I picked up the Clymer go/no-go gauges for 7.62x39mm. While it's really unlikely that an AK would have issues, I feel safest when I have the option of testing headspace on a rifle I'm putting together.
